the last time i evaluated UML apps that ran on non-M$ environments,
i liked magicdraw the best but the only comprehensive version is
non free.

there is a free version of Argo/Poseidon, but the GUI was a bit wonky by
compairson with Magicdraw. it did seem fairly serviceable, and is a perfectly
reasonable choice if you're looking for free tools.

a quick google on "uml tool linux" suggests there may be more choices
to evaluate now.
