Again we are having some confusion. I have not problem writing the
CD's with xcdroast or with Nero in Windows. In both cases, I can
control the writing speed.

Part of my question is whether changing the parameters in
cdrecord.conf would help with the Nautilus approach?

Forgive me if I missed a critical part of the thread, but do you get the same response when you use K3B? I'm asking because if K3B is working, and it's simply a front-end for cdrecord, then there may be an issue with Nautilus' cd burning frontend.
