That's odd.. I'm on several PHP.net lists and don't have anything of that sort happen to me. I'd contact the owner of that list and see what the problem is. Perhaps just a coincidence?

I just signed up for this list (I got the link from php.net), since I have
php5 questions that are really ot for this list.
Within 10 minutes of confirming my wish to subscribe, I got 33 emails from
all over the f*king planet.
I happen to check these messages on both my Linux test machine and my
'still-for-now-in-limited-use' XP box (I'm a newbie at Linux, so I'm
weaning).
20 of the emails were virus infected.
12 were signing me up for other lists from a whole array of shit-box sites
3 more were in languages that I can't even identify.

My advice to everyone here - stay clear of php.net lists!

I think I'll have to change my email address just to avoid what I'm sure
will be an avalanche of f*king spam!
