Hi folks -
Just yummed a remote server from FC1 to FC2, went smoothly so far. The 2.6
kernel for FC2 is installed and I would normally reboot at this point and see
how she goes.
However, this server is VERY remote. Is there a way I can request that GRUB
try my new kernel ONCE, then if it reboots or is rebooted, comes back up in
the default (2.4) kernel?
I googled and found some kind of cryptic command in the GRUB shell, but I
wonder if there is anything I can stick in /boot/grub/grub.conf?
Andy,
well, if the new kernel 2.6 doesn't work, the machine would just hang and that
requires someone to push the button.
AFAIK there is no such option in GRUB....
Better have someone close to the server to push the button in case something
goes wrong.
Just my 2 cents...
Cheers,
Hannes.
