rescue floppy?

I know the FC2 kernel is too big to fit on a floppy, but is there
another option?

You could boot from a gentoo live cd, mount the partitions that hold /boot & / then chroot in and go to a grub prompt and reinstall the mbr that way. Knoppix cd would do it too I think, it's just that I know Gentoo.
