    Forget gnome toaster, it's obsolete. It simply won't work with the
2.6 kernels if you're using an IDE CD writer. Use K3b (it's in the
distro) or burn CDs manually with cdrecord.

Hmm, that's strange. I use gnome toaster like, everyday. I've never had a problem with it and my sony burner.

Alex,
Gnometoaster works also here ...no doubt about it.
Francesco has a different problem, his post is misleading because he has problems also with XCDroast and also with cdrecord, I know it because he is a good friend of mine....let us help him because he is really a newbie ;-)

^_^

Well in that case. *looks at his prefs in gtoaster*

Now I'm not very familiar with the other packages such as xcdroast, but here are the settings I use for gtoaster.

DVD-ROM == Device File /dev/hdc  Scsi ID /dev/hdc
           Mountpoint /mnt/cdrom

CD-RW ==   Device File /dev/hdd  Scsi ID /dev/hdd
	   Mountpoint /mnt/cdrom1
there is a check in This Drive is a CD writer

This -should- work for you if you specify by device of course your device settings may be a smidgen different. Perhaps /dev/hdc? Or somethin' similar. Did you remove the ide-scsi=/dev/xxx from your grub.conf? You may want to do that. I missed most of this thread so this may be simply redundant for you.

HTH,

Alex White
