This fixes the problem where if you remove /dev/hde, /dev/hdg actually becomes (hd0) - you've got it set up as being (hd1). The extra steps contained in that url tell grub to believe that (hd0) is actually pointing at /dev/hdg
Yeah, I had already run accross that page, but because the setup command
didn't work and I got things to without testing pulling a disk, I figured
that the page was outdated. Thanks for straightening me out. I will redo
the setup for hdg using the device command first.
No problem It always pays to check how these things will work out. I've heard several anecdotal stories of software RAID sets failing to rebuild correctly, or failing to boot when relocated, but not had any problems myself.
