Temporarly turn off your Firewall and see how that goes. I've had similar
problems with Samba, in that I could see the share (I use Linneighborhood to
do this, in KDE), but I couldn't mount it. Turning off the firewall then
allowed me to mount the share. I still have not found out which port is being
blocked, but when I do I'll need to add it to the firewall script. (That's if
anyone else knows which port has been added to Samba that the standard
firewall rules don't know about.)
