When I made change as you mentioned above and particularly like this ;
use=fw, fw=192.168.1.1/Status.htm, fw-skip='IP Address' # found
after IP Address
Is the above address the exact address to get to your status page? Sure it's not like mine or whatever yours is? I am using the wireless/ ethernet combo router as well.
The ddclient this time passed out the message :
SUCCESS: updating MyAccountName.dyndns.org: good: IP address set to
192.168.1.1.
This time it updated the IP address database record with my router's LAN IP address 192.168.1.1 instead of taking the WAN IP address. So what did I miss?
Like I said above, check what the exact address is to your status page that shows the WAN address settings (on mine, this is all it shows, even the LAN info is not on this page, just WAN info).
http://192,168.1.1/Status.html, and the contents in this page are;
Host name; (empty)
Firmware version; xxxxxxx
Login : PPPoE
Status : CONNECTED
LAN: IP address : 192.168.1.1 Subnet : 255.255.255.0 DHCP server: Enabled.
WAN: IP address : xx.xxx.xxx.xxx DNS : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
