Hi, Has anyone successfully synced Palm M5xx to Fedora? I have read several (many) postings and Web sites. I am using an M515 and the supplied USB / cradle I have run the gnome pilot configurator and try to synchronise on dev/ttyUSB0 and / or dev/ttyUSB1 - then press the sync button on the cradle. Eventually the Palm times out saying it cannot communicate with remote device - and the gnome configurator never proceeds beyond waiting for data on the USB. Something is happening "low down" as can be seen from the following messages I have copied from dmesg. Can anyone help? << quote >> usbserial 1-1:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs) usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs) usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 3 visor ttyUSB0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0 visor ttyUSB1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1 usbserial 1-1:1.0: device disconnected usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using address 4 usbserial 1-1:1.0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter detected usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs) usb 1-1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs) usb 1-1: USB disconnect, address 4 usbserial 1-1:1.0: device disconnected visor ttyUSB0: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB0 visor ttyUSB1: Handspring Visor / Palm OS converter now disconnected from ttyUSB1 [root@IBMT21Linux root]# uname -a Linux IBMT21Linux 2.6.6-1.435 #1 Mon Jun 14 09:09:07 EDT 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux << end quote >> ===== ======================================================== Clive Long Rational Communications (UK) Ltd clive@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Ph: 44 (0) 79 00 55 66 36 Fax: 44 (0) 870 011 4405 You don't drown by falling in the water; you drown by staying there.
