Accessing Nautilus CD Creator with USB attached CD-writer (scd0)

My system has a built-in CD recorder which the hardware recognizes as
device "hdc"

When I put a blank CD into that device, the Nautilus CD Creator pops up.
At that point I can drag and drop files and the burn is perfect.

BUT, when I put a blank CD into a USB attached writer (device scd0), I
don't get a Nautilus CD Creator window.

Yes, I can write to the USB device using cdrecord, but I would like to
know if there is a way to associate the Nautilus CD Creator with the USB
device. In short, can I make the Nautilus CD Creator window "pop up"
when I put blank media into the drive. OR, lacking that, can I manually
bring up the window and have Nautilus CD creator recognize the drive on
scd0?

Thanks..Terry
