hi Serge,

i managed to mount successfully with no 'perms denied' msg by running this
command on the fc2 nfsd server:

mount -t nfsd nfsd /proc/fs/nfs

and also restarting nfs. i'm using the nfs-utils-1.0.6-22 package with a custom
2.6.7 kernel but this fixed the problem with the vanilla kernel too.

Same here, managed to get it to work using the FC1 nfs-utils RPM.

http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=123017 claims that it is
because of the patches that were applied by RH to the nfs-utils. Probably the
nfs-utils tar ball from nfs.sf.net will work too.

Does anyone know how to get a nfsd using the vanilla kernel to work with the
nfs-utils from FC2 ? Don't like the idea of using FC1 nfs-utils

Excellent, I just tested it (nfslocking + permissions) and it worked fine. Thanks for that.

The man page for mount does not even mention nfsd as a parameter for -t :\
