Just went through this myself with my Treo300. I could not getting to HotSync on the initial setup while entering settings into gnome-pilot. I dropped back to the original install kernel 6.2.2-1.358 and was able to perform te initial setup and HotSync. I can now HotSync with the latest kernel 6.2.2-1.435. So if you use the commands as you requested: where # is 0, 1, then 2 ln -s /dev/ttyUSB# /dev/pilot (create default /dev for gnome-pilot) chmod 666 /dev/ttyUSB# (0, 1, and 2) chmod 666 /dev/pilot (the new /dev) -- Thanks for your support, GregS <>< gswallow@xxxxxxxxxx
