Did you enter a FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) at start of install ?
eg. red.teach.net

Anyway, to change Hostname-

System Settings > Network > DNS > Hostname:
at this point, enter a FQDN eg. red.teach.net
On closing gui, you'll be asked "Do you want to save changes?"
You say "YES"

then:
/etc/init.d/network restart

that should do it...
