cdrecord cannot open a dvd-rom device for burning. It also indicates
you tried to access /dev/hdd and not hdc.
Is /dev/hdd actually a dvd burner? or did you mean to use hdc?
If hdd is a dvd burner, what does dmesg say about hdd?
