I tried 3 different CD-ROMs already, no luck... Even the one I burned the CD with... I am trying a few more, but I don't think that's it... -----Original Message----- From: fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dale Harkness Sent: Friday, June 18, 2004 10:32 AM To: For users of Fedora Core releases Subject: RE: Problems with medium check for FC2 despite of proper checksum!HELP i just explained this possible problem to someone else. i downloaded my fedora core 2 i386 isos, burned them to disk, wnet to install them and received errors that the disk could not be read, error reading media. i tried reburning them to a different set of cds, tried again...still failed. finally I tried to install the cd onto a different computer and they worked fine. turned out that we were installing on a machine with a particular cd rom drive that core 2 didn't like. funny thing is, this machine loaded core 1 just fine, burned ISO just like core 2! don't know if this helps you or not, but for me it was the cd rom. to verify this we tried installing core 2 cds on about 10 machines with the same cd rom, all failed, then tried on 10 machines without that cd rom...all worked. hope that helps. dale
