weird kppp

Hello;
  I am running FC2 with kernel 2.6.6-1.422 and KDE.
I connect to the net via dial-up.

Occasioaly the connection gets weird and I turn off my external modem
and re-connect.
This worked fine under FC1 and prior releases.
The error box would pop up and I would click 'connect' and away we go.

However under FC2 things are diferent.
I get a kernel msg box at the top of the screen

box title:KWrited - Listening on Device /dev/pts/0
then a bunch os msgs that I could not save.

Shortly after that X locked up.
Running the mouse over icons did nothing, clicking them did nothing.
I could not close the kppp popup box, or close it.
It had a title but the box was gray blank.
Clicking the X to close it left it sitting.

So after a ^-Alt-BS
startunregister_netdevice: waiting for ppp0 to become free Usage
count=1

Then did a 'startx'
KDE came up, I started firestarter with root passwd, then clicked on
kppp
It normwll asks me for the root passwd.
This time it came up and skipped the password box.
I clicked connect - and here I am.

Is this a known bug with kppp?
It sfairly fatal as I have to reboot the X system to connect.
FC1 would just complain about kpp nicely and let me re-connect with no
drama.

Thanks
  Mick M.

(if I have to report this to Bugzilla would you remind me how to do
that)
