problems to use other languages under FC2 --> help!

I used FC1 before. Now I changed to FC2, because someone said, I can use 
other languages, like japanese, in FC2.
Now I found the system to use other language in FC2, but when I want to 
configure it, I get an error-message.

I would like to use japanese canna in FC2.

When I try to configure it, I get the following message:

Problems to activate the xkb-config.
Maybe there is an internal problem with x-server.

version of x-server:
The x.org foundation
60700000

to send error message:

 xprop -root|grep xkb
 gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/xkb

I hope, my translation is almost correct.
