Wow. My first game under linux, cool. Now after playing tuxracer I
will need a joy stick.

When following your instructions to the point in which I run "startx" as
root. I get the following error:
=========================================================================
Error activating XKB configuration.
Probably internal X server problem.

X server version data:
The X.Org Foundation
60700000

If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
- The result of xprop -root | grep XKB
- The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/xkb
==========================================================================

Well, anyway after rebooting and logging in as a normal user all is
well. I ran glxgears, glxinfo, and tuxracer with no problem. Awesome!!
