I don't know if this relates or not. I've got a dvd-rom on /dev/hdd And a cd-rw on [ /dev/hdb ( /dev/scd0 with the old scsi emulation... ) on a pentium 3. I've often found that installations prefer one over the other. So when ever the installation medium isn't "found" on the one I booted from, I just stick the cd in the other drive. and it usually works. I think FC1 & FC2 both insisted on the dvd-rom on /dev/hdd, But I didn't write it down so I'm basing that on my often faulty wetware. Like I said, I don't know if this relates... But I'm curious, what kind of cd drive, mounted to which device? - -- | ? ? | | -=- -=- I'm NOT clueless... | <?> <?> But I just don't know. | ^ Joe (theWordy) Philbrook | --- J(tWdy)P | <jtwdyp@xxxxxxxx> | ? ? ############################################################## # You can find my public gpg key at http://pgpkeys.mit.edu/ # ############################################################## -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAt+uwRZ/61mwhY94RAk4sAJ0SBxNymBTM+JEKCLxbY2Dl/KSnoQCeKqOT m4dtOIQ0BtxMYsw6dFmAE9U= =cv/R -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
