I don't know if this relates or not. I've got a dvd-rom on /dev/hdd And
a cd-rw on [ /dev/hdb ( /dev/scd0 with the old scsi emulation... ) on a
pentium 3.

I've often found that installations prefer one over the other. So when
ever the installation medium isn't "found" on the one I booted from, I
just stick the cd in the other drive. and it usually works. I think FC1 &
FC2 both insisted on the dvd-rom on /dev/hdd, But I didn't write it down
so I'm basing that on my often faulty wetware.

Like I said, I don't know if this relates... But I'm curious, what kind
of cd drive, mounted to which device?
