Thank you for your help! Unfortunately, I'm still not familiar with IIim, so I use SCIM, an excellent CJK IME. I install the rpms from ftp://ftp.linuxeden.com/manux/SCIM and disable the IIim service. I set the following environment variables: XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LC_CTYPE=zh_CN and then I can at the same time view English messages and input Chinese (Japanese, Korean as well) with SCIM. Of course, I also need to run "scim -d" every time I start X. I put this line in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc. Now I'm happy with FC2. hiura@xxxxxxxxxxxx (Hideki Hiura) said: >> From: hiura@xxxxxxxxxxxx (Hideki Hiura) >> You can see how it should look like at >> http://www.openi18n.org/gallery/ > > When I posted this on here, only screenshots on this URL were taken on > Japanese session.
