Microcoft has lost several lawsuits because of *lifting* other
peoples work. IIRC, one in particular was Drivespace (used in dos
5/6, and Win 95/98) which was lifted from DoubleSpace.
Minor correction: Microsoft introduced DoubleSpace in DOS, stolen from
the third-party Stacker software. They lost a $120M lawsuit to Stacker
if I recall correctly, but managed to bankrupt the company in the
process.
True, I did not have all the details in ready reference ram (personal
memory), but that was the issue I was referring to. Thanks for the
