Matrox dualhead cards are very easy to set up and have good 2D
performance, but little or no 3D performance. NVidia dualhead cards are
moderately easy to configure, have excellent 2D and 3D performance, but
are a bear to get working initially because of kernel compilation issues
and 3rd party binary-only driver nightmares. I don't have any opinions
on ATI cards with dualhead, but the easiest dualhead system I ever set
up was one with two ATI cards, one PCI and one AGP.
