Yes it is a good language.
If more students were given a foundation in the classics better code might result.
Having worked in a Pascal shop I noticed that even the assembler had better style and quality there.
Have a look at FreePascal (FPC) and Lasarus . RPM's are avaailable .. and installs fine on FC1
