Apparently, what he failed to make clear is that he was installing these OS's under Microsoft Virtual PC. Are you surprised that he was able to get Win95 sound working in a Virtual PC 'enhanced' by Microsoft? Are you surprised that Linux didn't work that well? I certainly am not.
