Title: is: init script

I installed MailScanner, clamav and Mail-SpamAssassin, directly from source, tar files.
I tried to make init scripts for clamd, clam-milter and freshclam (becouse there are no init scripts for them)
by seting in inittab default run level to 3, but there was a catastroffe. I changed to 5 now, but i have not done enything with my initiall trouble, yet and the day is off :(

How did you install these things: as RPMs or from source?

I used the ./install -sh. to install this packeges it meance that i have done it from the source, isnt it?

I run
# rpm -qa "clamav-0.70-rc"
#
it runs

SpamAssassin is no milter application. You can not call it directly from
within Sendmail.

I ve got a spamassassin-milter and there its stay that i should call it directly from Sendmail.

That indicates that both sockets are not there when Sendmail starts.
Thus complaining. For clamav it is certainly because the service was not
started before the sendmail service starts.
There its stay that clamd should start as a root first, but there is no starting services (comands)
I belive that i miss something here.

The SpamAssassin socket is a
different thing, see above.
This WARNING (Xspamassassin ) came right after i put the line in sendmail.mc, the same as (WARNING: Xclamav)

No changes in the configuration files, so make has nothing to do.

I did put this line :

INPUT_MAIL_FILTER(`clamav', `S=local:/var/run/clamav/clamav-milter.sock, F=, T=S:4m;R:4m')dnl

saved and i tryed the next step:
#for i in `echo clamd clamav-milter freshclam sendmail`; do /sbin/chkconfig --level 2345 $i on; done

> when i run as root this:
> #for i in `echo clamd clamav-milter freshclam sendmail`; do /sbin/chkconfig --level 2345 $i on; done

There are then no chkconfig compatible init scripts or maybe even not
any init script for these services.
Check the content of /etc/init.d.

Here you are right, again. in etc/init.d are no init script.
Any ideea how can i put them there?

Again: how did you install the 3 services? Run: rpm -qa "*clam*"

After running
# rpm -qa "*clam*"
#
i get nothing but it runnes.

Are you sure you understand what you do there? If you call clamav
through milter, why do you want to call it again through MailScanner?
My gol is to use MailScanner with sendmail, to get rid of virus and spam.

Well, in MailScanner .conf it is a line:
Virus Scanners =none

Therefor i put there
Virus Scanners = clamav

But i didn belive that it should be an impediment.
