YOu can try using
IIRC
/sbin/ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0
(actually you know what.. scratch that.. I forget..)
use redhat-config-network
to determine if you have a valid ip already.. try
/sbin/ifconfig eth1
Even easier:
On pc1:
ifcfg eth0 192.168.0.1/24
On pc2:
ifcfg eth0 192.168.0.2/24
