I suspect you are working with X server running, using KDE or Gnome.
Then go this:
1) open up a terminal window (maybe xterm or gnome-terminal or kterm)
2) enter following:
su -
press enter
follow instruction to put in root's password
NOW you really have a complete root login shll
3) cat /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
