kernel-2.6.4-1.275.i686.rpm compile problems

Installing kernel-2.6.4-i686.rpm gave me grief, so I figured I'd
install the src.rpm and compile the kernel from there... But, I get
this:

Kernel: arch/i386/boot/bzImage is ready
sh /usr/src/linux-2.6.4-1.275/arch/i386/boot/install.sh
2.6.4-1.275custom arch/i386/boot/bzImage System.map ""
/dev/mapper/control: open failed: No such file or directory
Is device-mapper driver missing from kernel?
Command failed
grubby fatal error: unable to find a suitable template

Ran a quick google on it, and found that device-mapper is in the RAID
driver area of the config... Problem is, it's enabled... Any ideas on
where to go from here?
