i have a couple of these. i mostly like them because they're small
and don't need an external power brick.

downsides are there are two cases i know of where they simply don't work:

1) i can't hook up a handheld ps/2 bar code scanner through one, it doesn't
behave well at all (the bar code scanner is supposed to go inline with the
keyboard cable.)

2) i can't hook up the console cable from an IBM X330 server through one.
no idea why, it just doesn't work.
