For some reason, Red Hat Linux does not like KVMs.
I disagree. While Belkin units suck, I have had great success with several others and eventually standardized on the Cybex Switchview. I have at least 10 boxen (some GUI, some text-mode) on these things and none of them have locked up even once in the last three years or so.
