How can I get RealVNC to run? When I am at my server I checked that vnc is
active using KDE,
Do you mean the VNC "service"? Have you edited the
/etc/sysconfig/vncservers file?
Or are you trying to connect to display :0 (like MS Windows)?
http://www.realvnc.com/v4/x0.html
when I go to the workstation connecting to the server I
use ssh to start VNC (Doesn't make sense)
Why not?
You should be using "vncserver" at the server and "vncviewer" at the
client.
"$ vncserver " then it gives me
the display properties "server name : display number" (snoopy: 1). Ok
getting connected no problem but then I sit with a terminal window and not
KDE.
By default VNC runs the twm window manager. Look at the ~/.vnc/xstartup
file for the section that says "Uncomment the following two lines for
normal desktop".
I can then just as well use ssh.
SSH isn't a bad solution either.
