I also had to do the install via text mode. Once the install was finished, I had to manually edit XF86Config to add the proper resolution mode. You may need to do the same. For the actual monitor itself, I chose the "Dell 1600x1200 Laptop Display Panel". You can choose the same, but for 1400 x 1050 resolution. If that does not work, select the "generic 1400 x 1050 panel" option. I am pasting my XF86Config file below, so that you can see how I have it set up to also support the built-in touchpad and an external USB mouse. Also, note that I am using the NVidia driver, rather than the default 'nv' driver with comes with FC. I use the file directly from NVidia, but there are RPMs provided by several folks here that might be easier for you.
