RE: Clueless about Yum?

Is your yum pointing to a repository that has that rpm? It is not part of
FC1. I believe the FreshRPM repo is where you want to point it to for that
module.

Subject: Clueless about Yum?

I probably am, but here's the situation anyway. My auto-yum-update
pulled down kernel 2174 without trouble. However all attempts to use
yum to update kernel-module-alsa have failed. I uninstalled the 2166
version manually before the below dialog.

# rpm -q kernel-module-alsa
package kernel-module-alsa is not installed
# yum list | grep kernel-module-alsa.\*2174
kernel-module-alsa-2.4.22-1.2174.nptlsmpi686 1.0.2-0.fdr.5.c.1
fedora-us-stable
# yum install kernel-module-alsa-2.4.22-1.2174.nptlsmpi686
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)

Server: Fedora US Packages (stable)
Server: Fedora Compatible Packages (stable)
Server: Fedora Core 1 - i386 - Released Updates
Finding updated packages
Downloading needed headers
Cannot find a package matching kernel-module-alsa-2.4.22-1.2174.nptlsmpi686
No actions to take

So, what am I doing wrong?
