HD Speed.

Now I'm confused. My machine (a athlon xp 1700, 384mb ddr) shows very
disappointing results, compared to your blazing-speed p4:

/dev/hda:
 Timing buffer-cache reads:   904 MB in  2.00 seconds = 452.00 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:   80 MB in  3.06 seconds =  26.14 MB/sec

Is this expected for such machine, or is there something to be done?
