if it says amd 64 or opteron then it's 64bit... if you're considering a 
move to 64bit amd then you're also considering a motherboard upgrade. 
if you're consdering an athlon xp as a drop-in replacement for another 
athlon xp you need to be mindful that your current motherboard may not 
support a 333mhz or 400mhz fsb cpu core which would practically limit you 
to an athlon xp 2400+ or something similar... That's not a bad cpu by any 
means and they're cheap (~$80 or less).
