Are there any errors in the log?  Is the correct module getting loaded
(3c59x)? Does /etc/modules.conf (or /etc/modprobe.conf) alias the
correct module for eth0?

As root try:

        chkconfig --level 35 iptables off
        service network restart

Verify that dhclient is running.
