It's pretty good, althoug I'll be damned if I can find any mention of postgresql.conf in my copy of the Administrator's Guide (7.2 version). pg_hba.conf is covered in Chapter 4 of the Administrator's Guide.
In 7.3.4, it's almost at the end of section 3.4.4 of the Administrator's Guide. Great if, like me, you know where to look. Not so good for new users though. I've just added a comment to the 7.4 Wiki about this.
