NTFS is documented,

Unfortunately the color usage is very unlucky. There are links all over
for the low level details but you can't notice unless you go over the text
by the mouse (or use lynx, etc).

The NT4 -> W2K change included some minor on-disk structure additions,
dropping unused things and moving around some rarely used metafiles.

The W2K -> { XP, W2K3 } change is basically added some extra, redundant
structures for better performance.

The current Longorn beta (planned to be released in 2006) uses what XP and
W2K3. Current Linux NTFS driver and userspace utilities work flawlessly on
Longhorn.
