Hmm, I was thinking that sshd wasn't configured to start automatically, but it seems that it is. How can you tell that sshd is starting only after you login on the console? Is there an entry in /var/log/secure shat shows sshd starting after you login to the box? BTW does sshd stop after you log out? Original e-mail from: Justin R.
