Here is a helpful link for the cabling issue..

http://support.digi.com/support/manuals/combo/cables-xem.html

Good drawing of a RJ45 8-pin to RJ45 8-pin Digi port to Digi port cable.
Also shows pin 1 on the 8 pin connector. I always find pictures like this
useful.
ftp://ftp.digi.com/support/techsupport/common/cables/async/rj45-8pin-digi-to-digi.htm

Another thing to try...
Make an RJ45 connector with some wires to tie pins 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5...
(8-pin, using ALT pin set to YES in the configuration).
10-pin version 1-10, 2-9, 3-8, 4-7, 5-6...
This makes a loopback connector. Digi usually ships the cards with the
loopback to test with.

Are you using 10-pin or 8-pin RJ45? This will make a difference in the pin
numbers you connect to.

Good Luck,
James Kosin
