I have no SCSI scanner, but my USB Canon CanoScan N670U was not
recognized correctly at first. I had to reboot with the scanner
connected to my notebook until it was recognized by xsane.

In /var/log/messages I have found:
Nov 30 22:28:34 notebook kernel: scanner.c: USB scanner device
(0x04a9/0x220d) now attached to scanner0
Nov 30 22:28:37 notebook usb.agent[5119]: missing kernel or user mode
driver scanner

Using RH9 it was "real" Plug&Play, but the image quality has increased
with the new sane version included in FC1. :-)

Regards, Stefan
