No. The nv driver comes with X and doesn't support 3d acceleration,

Hold on, I thought these rpms where supposed to do it?

These rpms? Which rpms are those? The ones at nvidia.com?

When I say 'need to get', I mean 'need to get, install, and configure according to the README'
