while i've seen reference to some new sites where folks have started HOWTOs for fedora core, are there any sites devoted specifically to upgrading FC1 to the current pre-release of the 2.6 kernel? i've seen a few sites, but a lot of that information reflected 2.6 on RH9, and is now redundant under FC1. specifically, some time next week, i want to start with an empty system, install stock FC1, upgrade to whatever 2.6 kernel is available, and document what it takes to bring the rest of the system into line, issues like: 1) 2.6-related changes to /etc/rc.sysinit 2) support for sysfs 3) support for devfs(?) 4) converting LVM to LVM2 5) ACPI 6) ALSA and on, and on. you get the idea. a while back, i proposed a separate forum just for 2.6-related stuff, but that idea was panned pretty quickly, and i could see the rationale behind that. at this point, however, with 2.6 stabilizing and the real release allegedly imminent, i'd be interested in a forum of *some* kind that concentrates exclusively on 2.6-related stuff. in preparation for next week, i'd be interested in hearing from folks who have done something like this, or from others who haven't but want to suggest things that i can test and report back on. how about coming up with a wish list of what we'd all like to resolve in terms of working with a 2.6 kernel under FC1, and i'll test what i can. thoughts? rday
