Cannot mount SMB shares during boot

I have a record in /etc/fstab similar to one described here:
http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2003-November/msg04585.html

When Fedora 1 boots, mounting of this share fails. This is what I see in the log:

Nov 19 20:31:10 fedora mount: 3230: Connection to main failed
Nov 19 20:31:10 fedora mount: SMB connection failed

However when I "mount -a" later, everything works fine.

What is wrong?
