Same here with my Thinkpad T40p. No problem with my IBM Intellistation.

Thinkpad 570E here.  The exact same thing happened - the mouse
(Trackpoint) doesn't work in "firstboot", but it works everywhere else in
the installation process and also when the system boots normally.

It's not a showstopper, because you can navigate "firstboot" with the
keyboard.  It's just really annoying.


On my T20, I found that switching to a different console (Ctrl-Alt-F3, for example) and then back made the mouse work again.
