cups printing

All of our printing here at this office goes through a Redhat 6.2 server
running LPR. The print jobs are then routed to the network printers or to
other print servers with locally attached printers.

I installed Fedora Core 1 and am having problems configuring printing.

When I do an lpstat -t, I get the following:

scheduler is running
system default destination: ml2152w

device for ml2152w: lpd://penguin/ml2152w

If I clear the print jobs and then issue a

/usr/bin/enable hp8550 (or any other printer)
then the printer does enable, but when I try to send it a test page, it
immediately disables it again.

What do I need to do to get this working so that I can print?
