Well I'm just plain wrong. I was able to get into vc2 and edit fstab
after packages had installed. I'm not sure why I had such trouble when I
installed on hda...

I'm installing Fedora a second time around (on hdb in a 2-drive system)
to double-check my claim. It is at the "installing packages" panel right
now and so far, I have been able to use CTRL-ALT-F2 to get at virtual
console #2 during the installation process. Using the left-side keys
CTRL-ALT-F7 gets one back to the graphical panel.
I'm going to wait till the install completes because I'm sure that I
tried to get into the virtual console after packages had been installed
to the other drive on this system, but before quitting the installer,
and couldn't access it. As a result I couldn't edit /etc/fstab. I want
to be able to edit files just before the first boot of a freshly
installed system.

Huh?? Is this true?? It was in test 3. I used it. Has it been rm'd
from FC1??
I have not done any installs of FC1 from scratch yet. I f thei is
true why was it rm'd??
You can still go to F2 or whatever and go to /mnt/sysimage (sp?) and do
some editing before the initial boot after install.
Not sure on the upgrading/adding packages part though.
