Sound on Fedora Core 1

Hi All,

Yesterday I had mailed about the thing that on upgrading from RH 9 to FC
1 several important packages are not installed (yum, rhgb etc). Being
the lazy guy that I am I went ahead and reinstalled the system since all
my data was on /home partition so no data as I did not format that
partition.

Why I mentioned the above is because after upgrading from RH 9 to FC 1
sound _WAS_ playing perfectly on my system. Now after having reinstalled
the system sound is gone. redhat-config-soundcard tells me "No
soundcards were detected" same with sndconfig although I doubt that
there is any difference internally between these two now other than the
GUI part.

This is an Intel 845 motherboard with onboard AC'97 nothing fancy but it
lets me listen to some crappy songs while working.

Looking in /var/log/messages I see these messages..
Nov 11 15:12:37 HellInc modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-slot-0
Nov 11 15:12:37 HellInc modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-0-0
Nov 11 15:24:16 HellInc modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-slot-0
Nov 11 15:24:16 HellInc modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module
sound-service-0-3

My question is where do I start looking ? Fedora being new and all.
