Thanks for that explanation Lamar, it was clear and informative.  It sounds 
like these horizontal circuits are black art.  I hope then that for all 
monitors with microprocessors, it will not allow that part of the circuit to 
see horizontal syncs which are not inside the flight envelope of this 
horizontal HV circuit.
